Back to School Session

When you have nieces as stunning as I do, you use them for models as often as you can!  Last week we did a relaxed back-to-school session in Winters and then went out for bread sticks and girl talk.  FUN FACTS:  all of my nieces’ names begin with A.  Ansley and Abigail are the oldest two and they are eleven months apart.  Ansley is a junior at Vacaville Christian and Abby is a junior (graduating a year early) at Vaca High. It’s been a joy to watch these two grow and see their different personalities blossom.  Blonde and brunette.  Volleyball …

It was a scorching evening in late July that we met Bonnie and her sister Charlotte at the Davis Arboretum for this maternity session.  I was getting all the nostalgic feels remembering when my sister came to be with me when I was 39 weeks pregnant with my first!  I imagine her doing for me just what Charlotte did for Bonnie; fussing over her make-up, pulling dress choices out of the trunk of the car and arranging my hair around my face just so. The gardens were beautifully lit and our mama Bonnie was glowing; her hair upswept with a …

The Rucker Family

Allie and I met nearly six years ago, and I knew we would be fast friends. Ryan and my husband have been friends since high school, so when Ryan brought Allie around the first time, we knew there was no looking back for Ryan.   It has been such a blessing to get to do so much life with these two. You cannot spend five minutes around this couple without noticing how much they love each other, and how much fun they have. Allie has a laugh that brings a smile to anyone who hears it and no one can …

Our friend Christina recently contacted us looking for some head shots for her new web site.  After finding answers to many of her own health struggles through diet and lifestyle change, she decided to take the leap and become a holistic nutritionist.  Christina helps people find wellness through nutrition and functional medicine.  Also…she’s really cute. Our goal for Christina was to give her combination of 10-15  head shots and lifestyle photos that she could use for her professional social media profiles and business website. Her dog Gunnar joined us for a few photos because dogs are people too.  Actually, for …

Introducing Baby Bennett

There is nothing like those first few weeks of new motherhood. It is an exciting time, so full of love and wonder. It’s also so vulnerable and tender. There is an awakening of a depth of love in those days that makes you question everything you have ever known. It was so special to be able to get to glimpse some of these moments for the Sadoma family. Like we expected, Christy transitioned from expectant mother to full blown mama in such a beautiful way. The way she smiles at Bennett shows the tenderness in spirit.  And the pride from …

The Sadoma Family

I met Christy last year around Christmastime through a bible study. She welcomed me into her home with her signature smile and I was convinced we’d be good friends like five minutes later. She comes from a big family, so she loves having people around her! It has been so fun getting to know Christy and celebrating the milestones leading up to baby Bennett’s arrival.  Fun fact…during this shoot, Daniel was finishing medical school and taking boards! (Congratulations, Daniel!) It was such an honor to be able to capture this special time for Daniel and Christy. From the details of …

The Goddard Family

Have you ever met a person who is as beautiful inside as they are outside?  That’s my friend Amy.  She and her two girls Scarlett and Genevieve have matching blonde hair and blue eyes, which just beg to be captured on camera. Last year when David and I were hesitant about joining a family small group at our church, Amy and Brooks opened a space for us in theirs.  Amy’s exact words may have been, “You can totally date our small group.”  It was then I knew we were destined to be good friends. And that’s what Amy does, she’s …
